DMCA

Aria respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Filing a takedown notice

If you believe your copyrighted work has been used on Aria without authorization:

Your notice must include:

  1. A signature (physical or electronic) of the copyright owner or authorized agent
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work
  3. Identification of the infringing material with enough detail to locate it
  4. Your contact information
  5. A good faith belief statement that the use is unauthorized
  6. A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate

What happens after a notice

Aria will:

  1. Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material
  2. Notify the user who posted the content
  3. Add a copyright strike to their account
  4. Provide the user an opportunity to file a counter-notification

Counter-notifications

If your content was removed and you believe it was an error, you can submit a counter-notification:

If no court action is filed within 14 business days, the content is restored and the strike is removed.

Live audio

Because Aria hosts live audio, most content is ephemeral. For live sessions, Aria may mute or remove participants playing copyrighted material. For recorded sessions, the standard takedown process applies.

Good faith

Filing a false DMCA notice is a violation of federal law. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing may result in liability for damages.
