Community Guidelines
Aria is built on respect, creativity, and real conversation. These guidelines exist to keep the platform safe and welcoming for everyone.
1. Be respectful
Treat everyone with dignity. Disagree thoughtfully. Personal attacks, insults, and disrespectful behavior are not tolerated.
2. Prohibited content
The following content is strictly prohibited on Aria:
Hate speech
Content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
Harassment and bullying
Targeting individuals with unwanted, hostile, or intimidating behavior. This includes repeated unwanted contact, doxxing (sharing personal information), coordinated attacks, and threats of any kind. This extends to cross-session harassment (following a user between sessions to harass them) and coordinated harassment (organizing groups to target a user).
Threats and violence
Content that threatens, glorifies, or incites violence against any person or group. This includes threats of physical harm, self-harm encouragement, and terrorist content.
Sexually explicit content
Sexually explicit audio content, solicitation, or sexual content involving minors (CSAM). Aria has zero tolerance for CSAM. All suspected CSAM is immediately reported to NCMEC and law enforcement. Accounts involved are permanently terminated without appeal.
Illegal activity
Content that promotes, facilitates, or depicts illegal activities including drug trafficking, fraud, and distribution of illegal substances.
Spam and manipulation
Automated or repetitive content, fake engagement, misleading impersonation, and deceptive practices.
Copyright infringement
Sharing copyrighted music, audio, or other creative works without authorization. See the DMCA page for takedown procedures.
3. Recording rules
Stage sessions may be recorded with participant consent. All speakers must consent before recording begins. Recording sessions through external means is strictly prohibited. See Recording Consent for full details.
4. Platform safety
Misinformation
Content that promotes dangerous misinformation is prohibited, including fake medical advice, conspiracy theories presented as fact that target individuals, and pseudoscientific claims marketed as proven treatments.
Fraud and deception
Prohibited: MLM recruitment, "get rich quick" schemes, fake giveaways, phishing, and identity misrepresentation.
Defamation
Making false statements of fact about identifiable individuals that damage their reputation is prohibited.
Election content
Political discussion is allowed. Deliberately false information about voting procedures, impersonation of election officials, and coordinated voter suppression campaigns are not.
Creator responsibilities
Creators who host sessions must:
- Set appropriate content warnings for mature themes
- Actively moderate their sessions
- Comply with applicable laws, including recording consent laws
- Ensure they have proper licenses for content shared in sessions
5. Reporting
If you encounter a violation:
- In-app: Use the report button on any user profile or within a session

Reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours for standard reports, immediately for safety-critical reports.
6. Appeals
If you believe an enforcement action was made in error, you can appeal. See Appeals for the full process.
7. Changes
These guidelines may be updated as the community grows. Material changes are communicated through the app.
