Joining and Leaving
How to join
You can join a room or session in several ways:
- Discover feed — Browse active rooms and sessions on the Discover tab and tap to join
- Search — Find rooms, sessions, or creators by keyword in the Search tab
- Share link — Tap a link shared by someone else to go directly to the room
- Invite — Accept an invitation from a connection
- Notification — Tap a push notification when someone you follow goes live
What happens when you join
- Your avatar appears in the participant list
- In campfire rooms, your mic starts unmuted — you can speak immediately
- In stage sessions, you join as a listener with your mic muted
Leaving a room
Tap the Leave button in the in-room controls to exit at any time. You can rejoin as long as the room or session is still active.
What happens to your data when you leave
- Your audio stops being transmitted immediately
- In-session chat messages are ephemeral and not retained
- If the session generates an AI summary, you can find it in your Library
- If you were in a recorded session, your audio up to the point of leaving is included in the recording (only if you consented as a speaker)
Disconnections
If your connection drops unexpectedly, Aria will attempt to reconnect you automatically. If the reconnection fails:
- You'll see a disconnection notice with an option to rejoin
- If the session has ended in the meantime, you'll be taken to the post-session summary instead
